4 Days Better

LP – 2024

Herr Johann presents his new album, 4 Days Better, set for release on 15 November 2024. An 8-track raw and authentic electronic soundscape, where the boundaries of electronica blend seamlessly, drawing from a rich array of influences, ranging from UK bass to the edges of dance music. In a true exploration of feelings, Herr Johann offers a deep immersion within a unique musical landscape.

Neither Way

EP – 2022

At some point, it became necessary to run back, to stop for a moment on the past, to leave nothing aside, to take care of the pieces forgotten by the accumulation of heaps of incompletes, imperfects projects.
Imperfect as it is. Neither Way strives to be singular and coherent as a whole, representative of a constant search of sensations and feelings, through structured rhythms and atmosphere that has blurred, undefined boundaries. It was therefore time to work on that past, definitely, so as not to forget it, so as not to dwell on it, to move forward without the sourness, straight towards what comes next.

What Are My Eyes 4

EP – 2015

« Hailing from Lausanne, Switzerland, Herr Johann is a forerunner in the so-called « Future bass » movement. He still manages to stay true to his own forward thinking, somewhat enigmatic production. He has been in and around the big leagues remixing some artists like 123Mrk & iO Sounds released by Montreal based-label Infinite Machine and one track included in the 2nd anniversary compilation for this one.
What Are my Eyes 4 EP is chopped up to its own rhythm, incorporating engrossing vocal samples and sauntering misty synths. These four tracks are awash with choppy vocals, sparkling glitchy synthwork and meaty baselines.
Also carry on with 3 heavyweight remixing some artists like the enigmatic russian producer Ghostek, the recent add of finesse roster Naked Geometry Music & Red Bro. » Remezcla’s premiere

Shade Off

EP – 2012

« Swiss producer Herr Johann really steps up into the big leagues with this new EP on Dwntwn Rcrd. Opener « Shade Off » is an eerie 2-stepper with a heart-melting pitched-up vocal line and a SBTRKT set of hazy Detroit chords floating over the top, while the slower « Loner » will immediately find favour with fans of Lone’s gliding textures in particular. The more conventional « Someone » offers some UKF-cum-Balearica and the ice-cold dub of « Vibrations » mixes crisp future-garage beats and Boddika-esque filter vocals. A hugely impressive and essential EP indeed. »

123Mrk – Pleasure (Herr Johann remix)

Infinite Machine – 2013

« Herr Johann goes the future garage route for his take on it, but eschews the lamentable gloominess oft-associated with the genre, instead opting for thoughtful optimism and an irresistably immersive atmosphere on top of the woodblocks. »

IO Sound – AFDW (Herr Johann remix)

Infinite Machine – 2013

« Herr Johann gives « AFDW » an emotional, expressive, score-like leftfield treatment. »
